The customizing of a replica Honda CT70
Bike- Wildfire Motors
Bike arrives from Yellow Freight

4 speed manual clutch

Packed very well from Wildfire motors

Ready for customizing , honda decals and rasied front fender

First decal applied

2nd with transfer paper

This shows spacers made to raise fender like the original ct 70

Shows shape of spacers I used, white nylon then heat shrinked them black .

Reinstall chrome trim

Raising the front fender just makes this bike ........

Tail light and seat rivets arrived from northeast vintage cycle

Next project , I have learned that original size side badges are too large
to use, the indentation on the frame is much smaller ...

Cut two aluminum plates out of a aluminum door push plate,
after designing a new label on photoshop
then making waterslide decals, printed on a canon i850,
applied over the polished out aluminum, here`s a pic after the decal was
applied. Will be clear coated with triple thick krylon clear .
They turned out with a factory look .

Next project is the skid gaurd
I have bought one on ebay but being the rust issue
and have a qoute of $140 to rechrome ,so i`m making one out of heavy wall aluminum tube.
I have bent the tub filling the tube with sand and making a bending jig
using a heat gun and it worked perfect .......pictures coming soon.
Polishes up to a mirror finish .
Found a new chrome spark plug gaurd from Classic Honda USA in Tyler Texas.

5/8" x .93 aluminum pipe
Made jig from 3/4 plywood using the original gaurd as a template ,pipe is corked
with a wood dowel and filled and compacted with playsand .

apply heat with heat gun on high while bending slowly

pipe bent with no kinks at all . looks better than the original ....
more pics soon .......
Got a seat stencil kit off of ebay and some vinyl spray paint from Home Depot

Put on a original style seat cover from S.C.I.
click here for their website S.C.I.
Had to do a little carving of the seat foam with electric knife on the rear of the seat ............
Next project ....... Change tires from 3.50x10 to 4.00x10
and finish up engine guard ..........
